I have always had a passionate for art and creating. While pursuing my degree in Education, all of my spare time was spent editing home videos and photos. When I ran out of material to edit, I began shooting silly little short scenes and posting them on YouTube. Then, once I finished my degree and began working in various elementary schools, that passion continued, making music videos and short films for class projects with my students. I realized very quickly that my passion was not in education, but in film, so I set my teaching degree aside and went back to school.
I attended the Recording Arts Institute of Saskatoon in 2015 and was the only student in my class to graduate with Honours. Fresh out of school, I volunteered with Shaw TV and Bamboo Shoots as a camera operator before getting hired on as the assistant videographer and editor with Tara Yolan Productions. I worked with Tara for just over two years creating corporate videos, instructional videos, music videos, etc.
I was later offered a position with CTV as an ENG camera operator for the Morning Live program. I would operate the camera for the live segments with Janella in the mornings, then would shoot pre-taped interviews or B-roll for the evening news segments.
I recently decided to go off on my own as a small business owner and created Little Sparrow Pictures (previously Fly Away Films). This gave me the opportunity to create video that completely reflected my abilities as a videographer and editor. Now, I have the opportunity to create videos of all types, be it weddings, corporate, music videos. I'm ready to try my hand at anything. I look forward to what the future holds with Little Sparrow Pictures and can't wait to see what exciting projects come my way.
